NICKELBACK AND Mutt Lange..NOOOOOOOOOO!

> I've been a huge general music fan since my early childhood (when the first Boston album was brand new,and remember when Van Halen I came out),and this is what I have to say about it.

The music we hear on top-40 radio now is the worst it has EVER been in my 31 years as a fan. It seems like there are 3 very basic types of music dominating the airplay lists now.

Rap/hip-hop-music for the short-attention-span generation. No offense to any youngsters here,but it seems like kids are getting dumber,and this is all they can keep up with it seems.
Lyrics that rhyme,vocal hooks,and bass. Any added musicianship and they can't deal with it.

Emo-rock-Nickelfag,Hindered,Crud,and stuff like that. A majority of kids now are either genuinely depressed for whatever reason,or want people to THINK that,and just maybe it's music like that,that contributes. All they do is whine about losing their girl or boyfriend,and how bad life sucks.

Chick-rock-No,not Lori Linstruth,more like Nelly Furtado and stuff like that,songs that supposedly inspire female empowerment,like we need that.

Even in the disco days,musicianship was better than you commonly see now.

As bad as I think Buckcherry is,they're still better than 95% of the crap I've heard over the last 15 years.

The mistake that caused this,IMO is the shift in the target market for music buyers. In the metal era,young men that might be players were the demographic the industry catered to.
Since Nircrapna came out,it seems like they're now targeting 14-16 yr old girls spending daddy's money.

At least Cobain had the decency to get his whole head in front of that shotgun. Tommy D.

I would like Nickleback if they only had one song out, but every damn on is the same thing to my ears. Wall of sound but no real tone. Vocal melodies fall into the same pocket every time and never strays. Pitch is the same way. Lack of any real instrument expression. The guitar is supposed to me an instrument of expression, that's why there are so many notes available. They are just a product of the current trend.

I don't like the production value of Dragonforce but the playing is wicked. Those guys are very talented.
