He's been married at least twice... to women. One of them was shown briefly in the Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica home video (his first wife, I assume, and she was pretty fine looking from what I remember).

We all change our views.... Remember when were 16 trying to get into the pants of that 15 / 16 girl next door.... Now that you have a 15 / 16 yr old daughter you are wanting to kill the mother fucker knocking at that door asking for your daughter.

Didn't someone on here do their version of St. Anger? I think one of the lines was "Lars help me" or something. pretty funny. Yeah I think a tooth drill would be more entertaining then St. Anger. I don't hate load and re-load as much as a lot of people do, there's some tracks I really like on those albums, but st. anger just pretty much makes my angry. Mostly it's that snare drum more then anything else. I think someone played a trick on Lars and switched it with a garbage can. New and inovative.... yeah... cough
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

No, the guy I was replying to mentioned Kirk going to hookers. It was relevant regarding that. No offence intended to you.

Kirk was a fucking genuis lead guitarist for a long time and he did it all pretty much himself. Mustaine always had someone better than him to help him out be it Poland, Friedman, Pitrelli, Drover etc.

Kirk sucks now, I've seen live recordings of him when the St Anger "album" came out, attempting to play old solos and he was awful. He appears to have lost his chops completely. He also started wearing make up and all that crap long after Poison was even cool. Yeah, Kirk and the rest of the band suck, and so does their music.

But his leadwork up to and including the Black album was pretty much flawless. Like Mustaine could have given us the "Fade To Black" intro solo? Right.

FUCK KIRK HAMMETT, but, at the same time, KIRK WAS A GOD BOW DOWN BEFORE HIM!
I agree that Kirks best work is far behind lost in the Justice days (which is a bad ass album!) But Mustaine hasnt shit lately either!!

Well said Rsmacker. I'm tired of that Kirk bashing. A bunch of us started playing guitar because of him.

Somebody here made that St Anger Parody? I've had that shit for years on my computer. I would like to shake the man's hand...

I started playing guitar because of Kirk Hammett but I really can't listen to it anymore.

Kirk's lead work on Kill em All is still one of my fav collections of solo's. I read in an interview that he was into a lot of modal playing and that he only had 3 weeks to learn/write the solo's which was why they had a kind of samey type feel/sound to them.

That sameness is actually what I like most about them. Super speedy clear solo's without being drenched in effects.

Kirk's V on MOP inside album cover was probably the fir V I had come across except for Dan Spitz on, I think, Anthrax's Spreading the disease album. It just looked like the perfect guitar to unleash the sonic mayhem they were creating.
