  • Ok...this is going to piss off all you kids...but today

I watched a "Classic " in concert of Thin Lizzy! Earlier i watched AC/DC
from about 82'? My point is...NOTHING..comes close nowadays!
Sure maybe 1 out of 30 hard rock bands show some brilliance..
but overall.. from 1972 to 88'.. was the best ROCK is ever going to get!
Flame away~! Thin Lizzy would smoke Shadowsfall...or Stained today.
There i said it...its for your own good! :ROTF:

You must be hardcore... using abbreviations such as ftw implies no less.

There are plenty of bands that smoke them. Why would Thin Lizzy be any different?

Saw those, too. Recorded them to DVD. Great show footage.

There's plenty of good stuff after that - just not as much in the rock vein and more in the metal vein.

Those were my main concert going years...1977 thru late 80's. Can't even count how many I went to or how many bands I saw, but those shows were what shaped my youth!!!

Sorry, but death metal is not going to touch a classic AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, Van Halen, or Aerosmith performance. Granted Death did do some good shows, but I've watched tapes of stuff back then and it is unreal.

                      Phil Lynott was a god...

I just listened to the entire catalog today. I don't think think they released a single, bad song. Lynott could be the most under-rated bassist ever..

I saw a recent comment by John Sykes regarding the "new" Thin Lizzy - I was pissed that they'd run out there under the moniker, but it sounds like they're just going out and having fun, and aren't going to release an album - Sykes was just too in awe of Phil...

If you haven't seen it, the Gary Moore Thin Lizzy tribute is an AWESOME DVD...
Crime doesn't pay. Neither does lutherie...

That doesn't piss me off. It's just sad that I had to grow up without bands like Thin Lizzy or Van Halen in their prime. When I was in high school people listened to Limp Bizkit and the fucking Deftones.
I'm gonna eat your brains and gain your knowledge.

Every generation will have its own music, but it can be annoying when people don't respect each others tastes, and that cuts both ways

I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

I would have to say some of the best live shows I ever seen were Hendrix, Thin Lizzy,Funkadelic,Mother's Finest,Kiss not in order mind you.
I saw the Beatles but couldn't hear them for all the screaming twats.
Loudest bands were Ten Years After,Man-O-War,Grand Funk Railroad and James Gang.
