i know when i saw him with dio in cleveland he had several 800 series marshalls and modded strats like his gold one and relic black one. when he was with whitesnake in erie later that year he played a black les paul custom ala sykes with a wall of plexis. i dont know which mod he used, but scott splawn's marshall mod is the best one out there!!! i have a 1987x that gets killer brown sound!! look him up! you'll be glad you did. He uses 4 Marshall 800 full stacks on the Evil or Devine DVD, and the gold strat and a beat black strat. Both have H-S-S config vintage trem. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

Those 4 full stacks are only for show. He has 2 Mark Cameron modded JCM800's that are kept in a rack at the side of the stage. Those are the heads he uses. [img]graemlins/toast.gif[/img]

About his Strats, they are HSH not HSS configured. The neck pickup is a stacked humbucker. I also think he uses Duncans, I don't know the specific model though since I'm a Dimarzio guy.

Damn shame he left Dio, he was the best thing to happen to that band in years. I saw them with him and after when Craig came back and it was just not as dynamic.

yeah dio isnt the same. i was fortunate enough to catch one of dougs picks at the cleveland dio show. what a great show! hammerfall opened. good band too. i do have to say i like whitesnake better and that it was a wise move on his part. d coverdale always gets the balls guitar players! lets see... sykes...vandenberg.. campbell...
