When you think about, it's pretty amazing the influence that Randy has had on rock music, all based on two albums. Even Jimi's legacy is based on a larger body of work.

I wasn't a huge Randy fan at the time, since I was more of an Iommi partisan in the Sabbath/Ozzy split, but I have found over time that Randy's work holds up every bit as well today as it did in 1982.

You just can't contain that kind of talent into a human body or mind. It really would have been great to watch him surpass Eddie Van Halen in popularity. He was already neck n neck with him when he died as far as the polls went. Randy would have left Eddie in the dust. Which would have been no easy task.

His reputation and mystique certainly wasn't built on the QR albums!! To me, that's the equivalent of all those R&B sessions that Jimi played on before he moved to England. I'm sure some of the elements are there, but the context is not. Hence DuBrow's attempts to turn them into something decent on the American cd release.

I should have said three albums, though. Can't forget "Tribute"--his solo on "Paranoid" alone is worth the price of that album.

It's seems kinda weird seeing Randy wear a Gibson shirt, though....

I actually have a nice photo of Randy on stage when Ozzy played Rochester, NY on the Blizzard tour... Unfortunately, he's not playing his Jackons (he's using the creme LP). I still have my ticket stub, too! Randy lives forever!!
