In short, Adrian is the "third guitarist". Why? Because he left, and Janick replaced him. Bruce left too, and Blaze replaced him. Then Adrian came back, as well as Bruce. Bruce took back the vocal throne, but Janick stayed.

Soooooo... that makes Adrian the "third guitarist" in the current Maiden lineup.
