ESP guitars

i LOVED my ESP guitars. i just they cost too much. jackson used to be a better deal. now they are about the same price (USA select vs. ESP standard/custom). i don't know....ESP isn't so bad. jackson's are nice too. one really isn't any better than the other in my opinion. ESP has a lot less color choices and that is the biggest reason i stopped buying them. i HATE black guitars.

I have a ESP horizon neck thru that is very comparible to any jackson i have ever played. I also have the tele model izzy played, and that too is a awesome guitar.

Dont put down ESP's just because you are a jackson player, they are damn good guitars and great for the price you can get used 80's ones for.

the only reason i choose jackson over ESP is because i prefer to support an american company over a non american company.

I think guitar and amp companies should start a "sponsor a bedroom player" program.....I would be first in line.

etc., etc.

I guess they suck...but when I can play as well as the guys up above, I will complain.

Shit, Yngwie and Lynch played Aria Pro II's in their days...I have played Fenders and Gibbys that sucked ass...and $200 Agiles that kicked ass.

My first real guitar was an aria pro II cardinal series set neck, kinda like a gibby Double cut les paul. The guitar was great for 200 dollars i paid for it back in 1986, beautiful finish (fucked that up) played great with great sustain.

I still own the guitar, i took all the finish off (damn was i stupid) and staind it and right now it sits in a bag. I am eventualy going to put it back together and refinish it again, of course i lost most of the parts, but i have enough and will buy some. When i enventually finish it (might take years as it is on the back burner right now) will post pic's.

Dunno anything about ESP specifically.... but big names always get $$$$$$$$ too- not just a couple freebies- who ever has deep pockets and a playable piece of gear gets the artist endorsement. Remember that Jackson lost a lot of endorsers when they were bought out by FMIC too.

The first pictures is the rocker joint that you find on all standard gibby's, the second joint is the long tennon that is alot better, when slid all the way in it makes a perfect fit. That pictures is not the necks all the way together, it is to show a comparison of the two different style necks.

Oh man I really know what your saying!!! Whats the deal! But I kinda know why. Laiho plays them because they're more popular in japan also i heard that he still has his jacksons at home and plays em. As for mustaine I think he wanted to change up the king V a bit or something like that and when they did they took his name off it and mustaine was pissed and then he went to esp. hahahaha i saw a vid of him endorsing his new axxion (i got off this site) where he refers to jackson as 'the company i used to endorse'. hee hee.

If I can get into some band, call ESP up and get MII guitars for playing, you're fucking right I'd do it...you just probably wouldn't see me playing them on stage, unless they were good players.

well, it's not quite like that...my band has been around since 1993 (although the pre 2000 efforts are nothing to write home about really ) and he's been playing for them since 1998 i think....
