Re: and for you system of a down fans

i like SOAD. Chop suey is still my favourite song though.
Their dual vocals rocks on albums...and i like Serj's voice very much. Noone mentioned about their drummer? I like his drumming too,but i'm no good at listening to drums..maybe he's just average.

and one thing...many bands might talk about politics when they have no clue about it, but i am confident that SOAD DO know what they're talking about. Serj is really into those stuff.

as far as SOAD's political stance. They're Armenian. And they are quite informed and in touch with their own culture's history. I'm pretty sure their political stance reflects their culture's history.

Daron says his parents fled Iraq shortly after Saddam took over, and that his grandparents still live there. I think he's got some room to talk.
please don't put it into words, 'cause I fear what you're thinking

Just because you are from there, does not give you the right to talk for a whole country!

Now with that in mind let me tell you how i feel. I feel something had to be done about Iraq, and personaly i think we went in wrong and should have waited for the UN, but either way we would have had the same problems, look at Afghanistan, we have alot of the same problems over there, the only difference is they had a strong goverment to start off with and we went in as united nations, and the key factor is they do not have the different groups like in Iraq, or not as big of seperation like in Iraq.

Now with that being said, my reasons for being over there are as follows. You have to put yourself in there place, how would you feel if you or any one of your family members could be taken at will and beaten and tortured and possibly even killed.

How would you feel as a parent, or brother or sister if one day you came home to find out your 13 year sister had been taken and raped and beaten or killed by Saddam's son. Just so you know his oldest son was known for going into classrooms and picking out 13 and 14 year old girls and having his ways with them.

I know if i was in a situation where i am living so poor i could hardly afford to eat, where i am afraid everyday i am gonna be taken and beaten and tortured, i know if i lived that like i would want someone to come help me, anyone, i dont care who.

As humanitarians we should feel obligated to help those that cant help themselves. If Saddam was just a bad leader and kept his people in poverty it would be a different story. But he raped, tortured and killed 100 of thousands of his people and Iranians as well! He was truley a monster that needed to be stopped.

The sad thing is UN kept sitting on there asses, i dont give a crap about weapons of mass destruction, we should have taken him out in the early 90's when we had a chance.

What is even more sad is there are other countries where this same shit goes on, but because they dont have Oil we are not as interested! So yes we are not perfect and we need to help everyone and not just one country.

Now dont even get me going on Bush and his dictactor style policies. Working here in DC i see the Bushit (bullshit) all the time. What i have to say to you americans, is wake up, the policies they enacted after September 11th are so unconstitional and put everyone at risk!

Here is a pic from the toxicity sessions showing a portion of his set up. Any thing I have read has been vague as to which guitars were used for what probably because of the Ibenhad endorcement. Also note the neurodiscombobulator by the marshall.

I've listened to the new album. Sounds like the usual quirky SOAD. Not bad, not really my favorite thing ever though.

I've been listening to it a lot. There are some really cool songs on it, with all kinds of musical genres intertwined. They even throw in a touch of reggae.

I prefer Ulver. If I want lots of musical styles and weirdness. they're better at it.
