review my brand new song (not from my CD)

Hi guys. Got a brand new song I'd like you to check out. I started with the idea that I was going to write and record something that had only acoustic guitar and piano. Well it just grew from there. All the electric and more aggressive parts just to seemed to be required once I started. I tried to record guitar parts that fit the mood of the song, so there isn't any super shred in this one.

Give it a listen and let me know what you think, good or bad. All opinions are welcome.

I for one think its outstanding and yes I have worn out my copy of Breaking Point.LOL
A little different flavor in this song which is nice.
Pretty laid back and mellow IMO.Nice work RJ.

Very nice! I think it'll make for a good change of pace between more shreddy tracks on your next release.

I like the writing and the playing. The mix is just a little too wet for me. Too much delay and entirely too much reverb across the board.

Straycat, I was purposely trying to do something a little different than what is on Breaking Point. I was kind of thinking, I want something that doesn't scream 80s style shred so much. And thanks for liking the cd so much!

jgcable, I totally get what you're saying. I wanted the song to have a certain atmosephere I guess you could say. I wanted that kind of "dreamy" feel to it.

I don't particularly care for the echo or tap effect on the acoustic, but i don't usually care for overt effects in particular.
listen to it a couple times, i'd say that's the only thing that sticking out to me. The taps are off time or just not helping with the mood, imo. I could hear either just the acoustic without so much of the effect, or maybe just piano doing that part.

anyway still, cool song and playing.

Definitely a different vibe that BP. I like your shred stuff more than this, but still a nice recording.
