I haven't yet, but I'm wondering if/when Fender will change the pups on his sig. guitar. They are still Dimarzios.

Yngwie and Evan from SD says they are already shipping them in the new YJM strats.

Oh, ok. I just asked because the online retailers (MF, music123, etc.), and even Fender's site, still had Dimarzios listed. thx

What pickups did Yngwie use back when he was in his prime? I know they were DiMarzio's, but which models and where (bridge / middle / neck)?

I think I got an HS2 and HS3 and I'm thinking or wiring up a Yngwie setup in a strat.

                  Thanks.

Yngwie has the worst rythm tone in the universe, I'll never understand why anyone would buy a bridge version of his sig pickup.

IIRC, he had HS3's in the neck and bridge. Since he didn't use the middle, he just left the stock Fender in there and dropped it flush to the pickguard, out of the way.

I agree, terrible "honking" rhythm tone

going for the classic, shitty Blackmore sound lol

But you can't argue with that neck-position lead tone, sweetness!
