  • Solos that give you chills...

The first one that really gave me chills was when Steve Vai does the vibrota bar trills in For The Love of God.

But recently it's Loomis' solo in Garden of Gray from Year of the Voyager. He busts out with a nice slow start, throws in a sweet descending octave slide, jumps to a ripping sweep and then crazy speed picking.

    Solo starts approx 2:58 in.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

The ending solo from Jake E Lee on Bark at the Moon. That one just plain kicks ass.

Not so much a solo but,

Where Were You - Jeff Beck

When the Children Cry - White Lion (the first solo I ever decided to learn note for note)

                    Broken Hearts - Living Colour

as for just badass solos, one standard is Round & Round, just a classic

and the House Of Lords version of "Can't Find My Way Home"

my mind is drawing a blank right now
