I'm looking at two pedal boards to clean up the area around my amp (cables and crap), have a good, quiet power supply, and have everything ready when I need it to be with no routing wires all over the floor. I have come to two models; the Furman SPB-8C and SKB PS-55. I am leaning towards the PS55 as it appears to have more features (includes power cables, has a port for Line 6 effects, a low battery emulating one, an Electro-Harmonix styled one, switchable polarity, etc) but I wanted to check to see if anyone has owned either and their thoughts. The pedals likely to be mounted will be a Dunlop Crybaby, Boss TU2 Tuner, MXR EVH Flanger, MXR Phase 90, DOD Milkbox, an Ibanez TS9, and likely some kind of Boss-sized noise gate. I think this will be enough room, but wnat to eb sure, as since it will be an xmas gift, it's unlikely I'll get it in my hands until then to tell. The Furman does look bigger, which is why I am considering it.

I've had an SPB-8 (not the "C" version) for 6 or 7 years and love it. I thought it was a great deal at $250, but now at $199 they are a steal (people spend close to that just on a Pedal Power). Has plenty of room for 8 to 10 pedals, is fairly lightweight, comes with a nice padded bag, 3 AC outlets, 8 DC outlets, etc. I think these partially get a bad rap because of the cable routing. I've never once used the onboard cable routing since I've owned it. I just run my own cables like I would if I didn't have a pedalboard. I did make a nice little tuner mount on top of the cable routing jacks. I've thought the SPB-8C would be cool, but it really doesn't offer that much over the SPB-8 for the money IMO. If you gig a lot and need the hard case, it'd probably be the one to get. I can't comment on the SKB stuff. Here's an older pic:

Charvelrocker, I went through that also but I took note of the popularity that the "VooDoo Lab" was gaining went to Lowe's and got me a nice piece of wood, some velcro, some krylon and made the pedal board that was the dimensions I wanted it to be. You can also evelevate the 1st row so you arent stepping on the pedals on the 2nd row.
