        Rocktron Guitar Silencer is the bomb-diggity, but I really didn't use mine all that much and sold it on Ebay for over $400 last year. I think I paid around $100 for it in the late 90s.

          Sorry for the thread resurrection, but since I've started gigging, I've realized that I need something to cut feedback when I'm not playing. I don't care about hiss or buzz; I just want something to stop noise from the guitar.

          So, question #1: which is the best pedal under $150?

          Question #2: do these go in front of the amp, or in the loop?

            I would recommend the ISP Decimator. I use mine at the front of the amp. In the loop is not so good if you use multiple channels as you'd need different sensitivities for the different signal strengths.

              I use the MXR Smart Gate in the loop of my Boogie Roadster and that works just fine. It's a nice small pedal too
