If so...How would your harmonics change from one spot to the other, unless you changed your intonation? Perhaps your neck is fluctuating due to its instability? Either way...that is also changing your intonation...

Bottom line….You find that sweet spot…it should be there next time too...otherwise no one would be nailing them….

I think it's the extreme floppiness of the strings when you dump the bar that would change the position of the harmonic node.

I checked for that book and according to Dime, best harmonics he pulled where between 2nd and 3rd fret. Here is also a vid check from 5,30.

Harmonics dont change but when you dive the vibrato and the strings are fairly floppy it's a little more difficult to grab the string in the right spot...

Dime makes it look easy but he'd been doing that since the 80's...

what their saying about the harmonic changing is when you fret a note.

when freting any note the guitar sees that fretted note as the nut. so 12 frets up from that note is its natural harmonic.

alexi laho uses that trick alot at the end or breaks in his solo. he holds the note, licks his finger, and then touches it's natural harmonic near the top of the fretboard or over the body or even between the pickups. wherever it may lay.

its a fun trick. and easy to do. just start with holding the B string at 12 and touching the harmonic at 24 or where 24 would be. then try a different note and touch 12 frets up from that.
