Exact same amp, no difference. The 6505 is the 5150 and the 6505+ is the 5150 II.

what about the 6505+ compared to the 5150 111? loved the distortion on the new evh head. Thanks!

Mines way to loud for the living room as well, i'm thinking about getting an SD twin tube mayhem to put in front of it so i don't have to crank it.

I've never checked out the III, but by all accounts, it is a different animal all together.

There are a few guys here that own one, maybe they'll chime in.

the XL live sounds great running through the FX return of the Crate Powerblock. and the little black knob on the back is you're overall master and sounds fine at bedroom levels.

get an ENGL screamer 50 watt combo. 1x12" speaker.
                1. It can be loud but doesn't need to be
                2. The tube amp dynamics will make you a hell of a lot better player than a stinkin modeler! (I use a POD daily in between working out the Blackmore, so this is my experience speaking)
                3. It's the same kind of money as the Peavey one, but better

                how's that for an argument?!?!
