What is a good and fairly inexpensive PA speaker for my house...

I am going to be running my DSP16 into a Crate Powerblock into a PA speaker so I can jam to recordings.

How about a Rocktron Velocity S-112? It can be used as a cab or monitor wedge. If you're looking to buy local, it seems that every shop in town has their two or three brands of choice. We use Peavey PA speakers at our practice space, and my wife's band uses Yamahas.

What kind of price on these things - I don't care if I get used or new.

+1 on the Yamaha's. Pretty good prices on the club series.
We used them in my old band along with some Bullfrog subs and they kicked ass.

You can get some really low end Kustom, Nady or similar budget cabs for under $100 I think. The Rocktrons I mentioned are around $150 and intended as guitar cabs. The Yamahas I bought were around $100-150 each, used.

If you REALY want to go cheap, you can get the Nady PFW12 floor monitor for $69.95, their PTS515 12" 2-way is $109.95 and their 15" 2-way version is $129.95. You can get Peavey's ABS cabinet 2-way 15" and horn for $199.95. Those are new prices.
