  • high pitch noise

hey all, just got a traynor ycv 40 and i like it alot, but there is one thing bothering me at the moment, when i turn the volume and gain up, i get a really high pitched squeal, to solve it i have to turn the treble down, or the gain, is this common in tube amps?
Ive never owned one before so be nice.
If not normal, what should i do about it?
    thanks

Yes, it's called feedback. Stand further away from the amp and/or don't point the pickups right at the amp.

        :ROTF:

.. ok.. maybe a preamp tube, or your cord..or something in the signal chain like a bad jack in the guitar or a pedal.

Yeah. Using a noise gate/noise suppressor will help, too.

              1) Open Amp

              2) Remove squealing pig

              3) Fry said pig to golden brown
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

Said pig can also be found in a certain thread over in Artists...
