The new 5150 II is the 6505+

And they are exactly the same as the old models.

    Thanks, dudes.
From what they say, they are the exact same only a name change, but you never truly know if they changed to lower grade componants etc.... or made a slight tweak.

Here is what HC had to say http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAM...a-Preview.html

Yeah, makes claims to all of the above elaborations.

So if no one wants to get up off a 5150 for a reasonable price or trade, I guess I can try for the 6505.

I've played a 5150II and 6505+ side by side - no difference AT ALL. I was using the same axe into the amps, with the same tubes in each, through the same cabinet. No difference.

Ok, so if those two were the same, given all the info, resources, claims etc...

I would say that it is true, that the 6505 sounds exactly liek the faithfull 5150.

Just noticed, today, that an old Zzounds catalog said "The relaunch of the classic 5150 series!"

                So more affirmation.

                Lets keep it coming/going.

i feel like adding my 5 cents into this thread.

but on a serious note, thats sweet how they kept the specs consistent. i heard people rumoring that eddie was talking the 5150s with him when he left.

guess it was just his name and number.

Heh, Marshall had a 5150 2x12 solid state combo way before EVH and Peavey.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Thats both good tidbits of info for this thread.

We're working on starting a book about this.

So any other contributions, big or tiny, please post!
