Who here is using the Mesa Tradition Rectifier cab, and has compared it to the oversized Standard cab? I'm wondering how big the sound difference is...I saw a band the other week and the guy was using the Trad cab with a Single Rec and had an awesome sound. Does the smaller size make it a bit more focused sounding?

Yes... it does. The Oversized Recto 4X12 cabs are just too bassy, muddy, mushy, dark, and boomy sounding to me. I think these cabs are also one of the main reasons people complain about Rectos sounding muddy, not cutting, and getting lost in the mix. I much prefer the sound of the smaller Traditional cab myself. Tighter and more focused sounding definitley describe the difference. -
trad staight is what I use.sounds perfect
