If you ever want a good example of the phrase "Don't make them like they used to." go out and do a side by side comparsion on a tube tester of used vintage tubes to brand new current market. The old stuff even used tests better most of the time. Pete proved this to me. I sent a couple of brand new Svetlana 12ax7's to him to test and not a one compared in test readings to the used ones I bought from him.
