advice on 1 or 2u rack-mountable tube power amp?

Many a good thing has been said about the VHT power amps. I'm picking up the 2.90.2 as soon as I can (played through it a few times and it's monster). A few guys have posted reviews of em, the 2/50/2 and the 2150, you can do a search if you want.

Thanks, just dug up a couple threads on the VHT 2/50/2... that does sound excellent. Any idea what I can expect to pay for one of those?! Or a good place to get one? My nearest dealer appears to be a good 70 miles or so away.

Ouch.. just saw them for $1036 from Musician's Friend. Hope I can find some place that does a better deal than that!

Mesa also has a 2:100 poweramp thats cheaper than the 2:90 - I have one for sale too [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img].

I've got a 2150. It's soooooo fucking loud. I also have a Marshall 9200. It is only soooo fucking loud.

Has anyone tried a Marshall 9100?

Bill has a 9200, it actually hasn't exploded yet, only because it has never been moved in 9 years...

Sorry, bad taste in my mouth from later Marshall rack amps, especially the year after the 9100/9200s, But the construction is the same, so that means theyre likely crap as well.

I would look to the 2-50-2 personally. VHT is pretty much outstanding. I love my 2150.

Thanks but that's a little more juice than I'm gonna need! The VHT 2/50/2 sounds pretty tasty... if anyone knows of a deal on one, please PM me!

Hey Bert, check out Guitar Asylum (actually only $3 cheaper there, sorry), but there was one more dealer I can't find anymore that gave me a better price...When I find it I'll drop ya an e-mail. But they pop up on EBaY every now n then. There's actually one on EBaY goin for less and there's a dealer that usually sells em for $950ish I think

Eh, hell, I'm sure it won't effect anyone since this isn't the VHT board, but I think I found the best price on the VHT 2/50/2 with Jason @ DrumCityGuitarLand. Just to be sure I won't post a price.
