• any pod xt/xt live users? question...

anyone here have an xt or xt live? i'm wondering about the metal shop model pack. i'm getting some great sounds with the treadplate, insane, and lunatic models and some good tones with a few others, just wondering if the metal shop is worth the $50.00 before i buy. thanks peeps. some people say they are worth it, some people say they arent. I can make do with the JCM 800 and Boogie amps that it comes with. i really wish they could give out a free sample of the amps they have in there so i could try before I buy

Hmmmm, I bought my PODxt off fLeabay with all three Model Packs already installed. I like the packs a lot, especially the Metal Shop. They definitely expand the range of the PODxt, giving you a ton more options. If you play heavy music, then yeah, I say it's worth it. I'd spring for the extra $50 and get all of them though...

haven't tried the metal shop. i've been diggin the slo-100 model though. i thought the treadplate sounded ok by itself but washed out when used with the band. so far i like the slo and j-800 models. would love to try the other model packs. but ther is too much other gear i'd rather buy.

On my pod 2.0 i love the slow, with delay you can get damn close to the goerge lynch wicked sensation tone.

I had a POD 2.0 and my two favorite distortions were the dual rect. and the SLO.

actually i preferred the x88r (modern hi-gain) over the slo (hold tap + modern hi-gain)on the pod 2.0

successfully purchased and installed the metal shop pack. so far so good, noodled for about an hour and a half or so and some cool tones with very minimal tweakage. more to come...

yeah that kinda sucks. if youy have a pod xt, you buy two and they give you the third. i've got the xt live which came with the fx junkie, so i don't get a discount. i may or may not get the other classic pack. i'm diggin the extra gain models of the metal shop though...can't wait to get home and do some serious tweaking to see what i can come up with. I bought the Pod XT Live and then bought the Metal pack, but I find that I don't like its amps as much as my modified version of "Spinal Puppet" and, believe it or not a Fender Deluxe model (can't recall the name right now). I loved the "Bomber Uber" sample MP3 that Line 6 had online, but I'm not crazy about it through my rig.

I really liked the Metal Shop, but I had two buy another one in order to use it in my Xtpro cause you can only use one for one Pod...

I got the "Metal Shop" download and really liked it. Definitely worth the price of admission. Some of the amps models included sounded kinda crappy... but the good ones out number the bad. I'd get it again.
