  • after months of looking...

    finally found my new amp... valvestate2000 avt20. just for blasting at home. paid 129.99 at local pawn. from what i've read at harmony central it should be everything i need. [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

      maybe this is a dumb ??? but, how does it simulate a tube sound? or is it a form of a tube amp? been to marshall's home page and still not sure how it produces it's tone [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

        If it's like the VS100s, they have a tube in the pre-amp section.

          so does that make it louder than a pure solid state 20w? i was practicing thru a marshall vs15 what differances will i see? [img]/images/graemlins/help.gif[/img]

              the smaller AVT's are great for practice, they do get a decent metal tone. our singer uses the 50 watt model live for the 4 songs he plays on ;-)

                No, since it has a solid state poweramp, it will be just as loud-per-watt as a pure solid state.
