Anyone know where to install a trimpot in an 86
model x100 combo for biasing purposes. Also, does
anybody have any info on performing a hot rod mod
for one of these amps. I've seen kits for sale
that cost about $60.00. That seems kind of high
to me considering the fact that its probably just a couple of changes in resistor value. Any help
would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I don't know specifically, but try calling Carvin's 800# and ask for a tech.
They could tell you if anyone could, and
later X-Series had "Hot Rod" mods as an option. You may ask them what they'd charge to do it all.

I blew my '81 X212 combo and sent it in to them a few years back. They charge a
flat rate of $105 for repairs, and they
threw new tubes in for me too; although
they disclaim that tubes are extra, they
didn't charge me. Also, I removed the
chassis for shipping so it only cost me
$15 to ship it to 'em. Just an idea.
