  • volume in FX loop?

I want to add a JHS Little Black Amp Box in my FX loop.
Where should it be placed in the pedal order? I intend
to use just a delay, chorus, maybe reverb, noise gate,
possibly a clean boost and the LBAB. Right now, I'm going:
    Send--Gate--Chorus--Delay--Return. Where to add the
    Clean Boost and LBAB?

probably doesn't matter too much with that signal chain.

I'd leave the noise gate first so that you don't need to adjust your settings for the LBAB & boost. eg. if you put the boost before the gate, then settings for boost-off may not work properly with boost-on and vice versa. I think you could put the LBAB & boost anywhere between the gate & the loop return & it should work okay.

The boost I'd put last so that it's not driving your other pedals too hard. You didn't say what the other pedals were, but if they don't have enough headroom they can freak out if you hit them too hard. Of course, if they can handle the boost, it doesn't matter.
    Hail yesterday

I run the line boost after the gate but before the OD.
I tried the boost after the OD pedal and didn't care for the squishyness so I put the line boost before the OD and it sounded much tighter.
I'm using the TC electronics mojo mojo OD right now and it does quite well for a low buck pedal.
I will probably go back to using my BK Butler tube OD pedal eventually or back to a Carl Martin plexi tone tube OD.
      Really? well screw Mark Twain.
