I tried mine in the loop of a JCM900 a couple of times. You might be able to get a decent clean patch with reverb and run it in the loop. If you're going to leave it on, you're not running reverb into your OD channel then.

I don't believe you can run FX only though, so you'll always need to have at least a clean amp model & probably a cab emulation to smooth out any harshness. Downside of that is that it's not just giving you reverb, it's also flavouring your amp a bit.
Yeah it seems to be hard to dial in what I'm looking for, especially if you then want to use, say, the Tube OD as a boost. Then you'd need to put the unit in the front of the amp, not the loop!

Personally, I am not a fan of reverbs that simulate rooms, halls, etc - studio reverbs - with guitar. I will use them when mixing tracks in the studio, but that is a different ball game.....

For guitar, it is the Fender spring reverb all the way or nothing at all. I have an original spring tank from the 60s that I use at home, and the BOSS pedal version - which is nearly identical when A/B'd with the original - to use live. I ALWAYS run my reverb in front of the amp - even on the high gain channel (when I use it, which isn't often). In fact, one of the BEST doom metal sounds I get is running the Fender reverb in front of a distorted Orange amp. By balancing the level of the reverb and the gain on the amp (neither is maxed) I can get a vicious tone that has a subtle depth and some extra character that doesn't exist with the dry Orange tone on it's own.
I'll need to keep an eye out for one of those Boss pedals cheap!

If you really want a whacky, eerie reverb, go Eventide

Boss just released a new reverb stong box, that will probably do what you want. The TC Hall of Fame would be the direct competition there, and i'm a fan of their Toneprint series of pedals.

If money is no object check out the Strymon Big Sky or Eventide Space.

Be glad your new Marshall didn't come with reverb. If it did, it would probably be their mediocre digital reverb they have been using for some time. I bought a JVM head last year and it has no reverb (JS model) and I couldn't live without it, so I got a TC HoF and I'm very happy with it. Very simple, sounds great. I got away from multi-fx years ago.

Eventide is more than just reverb though, but yeah, if you're looking for the God of reverb, that would be it.

In the end I got one of these. Cheap but does the job perfectly - seems nicely made and sturdy too although I have seen some comments about the switch failing.

How is the pedal holding up?

Boss makes a very nice reverb pedal you could stick in your effects loop. I think thats the way to go if your Korg doesn't have the ability to put a reverb in your effect loop while running things in front of the amp. This would be called the 4 cable method but not many multi effects processors use it. Boss does in the GT series. This is another thing to think about then you would only have 1 multi effects board that does everything you need and place the effects and OD pedals where they should be in the chain.
