So YEAH !!!!! you and the mustang, oh I mean horse you tried riding on.....just kidding.. good thing you could return it. I have a Mesa dual rect. that I love. It's actually very versatile.Sounds good at bedroom/rehearsal volumes and just kills on stage. John Cable I think is using a single rec. and seems to like it as well. I've tried a lot of different amps. SS,modelers, etc etc and just love the warmth and depth that a good tube amp brings. For me the Mesa does it. I hate dragging a 1/2 stack around but I just can't get the same tone out of anything else. I have a Fender hot rod deluxe combo that comes close but that's it..just close.I only gig with it when I have to haul gear up flights of stairs. I will say however the Deluxe sounds simply awesome paired with a strat!

Yesterday I was in GC for a bit and they had an EVH 5150 III on top of a 2x12 cab. That things sounds pretty killer! I would prefer a 4x12 and honestly, I still think I would like the JVM better.

I'm strictly a home player, but I really want that Marshall sound again. I wouldn't mind lugging it on the rare occasions I might play out somewhere.
