Decimator in front if you don't use effects. Decimator g-string if you do.

Not currently running a noise pedal but when I did, I used a Hush The Pedal. Not the current version out but the older metal one with two channels. That way if you run an amp channel that had less gain than another but still need noise reduction this pedal allows you to set two different thresholds. Simply push the buttons A or B to select which one you wanted. It's not currently in production but they are pretty reasonably priced, used on E-Bay.

I've got a Boss NS2 and MXR Smart Gate... I like that Smart Gate better. Though, the NS2 has an effects loop which is cool.

I've found that I've always liked the DBX noise reduction the best. I started off using a 1U noise gate designed for a stereo system, then upgraded to an instrument grade gate, then I bought the DBX DDP and that was an amazing piece of rack gear... I still have it, but it's on my bass rig, unused for the last half decade, but I'll most likely never get rid of it.

I've never had a pedal that I thought was worthwhile, but then again I haven't tried any of the newer pedals.

When I finish building up my guitar rack (already have the amp, need the AxeFX2 or the new rack Kemper), I'll look into the newer DBX dynamics processors. I love the concept and they're great at fine-tuning your tone, the drawback is that you're taking up a space or two for something that only affects the dynamics of your sound and doesn't add any effects layers or anything.

I use an old school Boss NF1. Works well.

I'm using an MXR Noise Clamp in the effects loop. Seems to work pretty well.
