  • ADA out of business in 1992?

I couldn't find anything via google. I've ben told ADA stopped in 1992, and that there's no spare parts if one of their devices break down. Is this true? I still want an ADA MP-1, but if I manage to buy one and it dies/has died partially/entirely, I don't wanna end up with a useless piece of junk.
    Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

ADA depot still has tons of spare parts and Mauser also carried pretty much everything you would need to totally rebuild a unit.

      ^ +1

You can also download all the pdf's for the thing so if one day you need it fixed and your not inclined to do it yourself you can get an experienced tech to do it.
There are a only a few things that could kill it totally. If the display goes out it could be a problem because it was a hard pressed search at one time at ADA Depot we were trying to find something that would be a suitable replacement, i found something close at one time, then mjmp (mod guru) figured something out from there.

Mines still going strong, and i have one of their supped up transformers that i still haven't stuck into it. If it dies or something i will try like hell to revive mine, and put the transformer in at that time.
I had mjmp mod mine to a mod 4 - entirely worth it , i love the fkin thing to death.

Yeah, parts don't seem to be an issue, and the MP1 is awesome. I have absolutely zero desire to try anything else cos the MP1 just does exactly what I need. A guy in our building has one with the 3 tube mod, which I might grab as a spare....

I still regret selling mine 2 years ago.
I had the large footswitch too.

I really loved the clean/chorus, very 80'ies, (grew up on that tone)

Been looking for another one to do the 3TM, however prices on the 'bay are kind of insane right now.

If that is the case I would like to know what the replacement parts are for the proprietary ADA parts. This would allow us to continue repairing and Modding these. IE: we purchased all the surplus proprietary parts we could find several years ago and cannot locate any more. We went through several parts specialists and they could not locate any either. Please let me know and many thanks in advance.

We also have a few ADA MP-1 units we use for parts so if someone needs a replacement power transformer, display, chips, etc we are happy to sell what ever we currently have in stock.

              Thank you;

Trace, what is the most common failure in the unit that you have found that cannot be replaced?

I need to go back through our tech notes to be certain, it's been a couple years since we have worked on them so I no longer have it memorized.

I know someone who has an MP-1, but not selling. I'm waiting for the studio to be booked so I can try the unit for myself.

I've been using my 1101 more and more lately, but still find myself giong right back to my stock MP-1 for a lot of things, and liking it.
