  • NGD- PC-1 Shred 1 of 12!!!

Well thanks for my LMS I got in on this run after seeing this guitar in concert in May!

I absolutely love it. Feels and sounds killer, like a good PC-1 does.

When I saw the specs on it, I felt like Jackson was reading my mind and changed the things I don't like about the PC-1. Except for the quilt top. While blue shimmer is a stunning color and apparently hard to photograph, I will kind of miss a nice quilt.

    My preferred features:

    1. No middle pickup
    2. No gold hardware
    3. Ebony fretboard
    4. Stainless frets
    5. Luminay side dot markers
    6. Roasted maple neck

I'm so happy with this guitar. I've already gigged with it and I can't get enough of it.

I haven't had a PC in a few years, but I had an import Soloist that kept me in the family. I sold it to help pay for this one and I have no regrets. I wouldn't have played it much more anyway after this one.

And now on to the pics.......

Very cool. Is the neck back painted or oiled?

Did you swap the bridge pickup, or do those come with an X2N or whatever that is?
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

        Very nice.
Love the pickup config. Middle pup never gets used on my PC1.

that's BAD ASS - and while i love exotic wood tops, that matte finish is elegant and cool. i DIG it!

Looks great. Color looks like a blue/purple flip-flop?

It's called "Shimmer Blue", but it does do a very slight blue/purple flip flop. I know people say it, but pictures really don't do it justice.

Neck pickup is listed as a Dimarzio Super 3 on one site, Super Distortion on another site, but X2N on a third. But the same three guitars listed on Reverb have them all as Super Distortion. So..... I guess I can open it up to be sure.

                Finish is gloss, not matte.

I'll get you a back pic in a sec.

reminds me of a Kramer sustainer I used to have with the blue flip flop color.

You can tell that in the first pic at the store gave it more of a blue look. But here in my room under track lighting it's more flip flop.

Now under these lights, it's so blue it almost hurts....

                              Very cool.

I'm with you, that guitar changed most of the things I didn't like about the PC-1. I also like the quilts, but that color looks killer.

Is the neck still pretty beefy? I never did get along with the thicker neck shape on the PC-1 I had.
