  • Identification of a Charvel Strat

    Hello!
I found myself being offered a Charvel strat in a guitar trade. It's a very modified guitar - scalloped fretboard, new tuners, nut, pickups, frets and so on. The owner does not know what model it originally is and I am hoping you could help identify, to avoid perhaps purchasing a fake guitar. The picture is attached below.

    Thank you for any response!

Legit import model. I can see the logo reads Charvel by Jackson.
Can't remember the exact model off the top of my head, but not worth much.
Got a serial number?? That will tell you where it was made.

I can tell you what it's not, it is not one of the 1995 San Dimas Tradtional reissues.
Those had a slightly different headstock shape and two point fulcrum trems, and they were made in the US.

Except a Model A has 24 frets and no pickguard.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

It's screams one of those '90s budget models upon first glance.
              96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

That's it... I couldn't remember the model number as it wasn't around very long.
