A Vetta II, a junky sound card, and the National Anthem
Edit: Yup, cool sound.
Isn't the break out moment supposed to be at "Rockets red glare"...instead of at "The flag is still there"?
Kind of threw me off a bit.
Congrats!
I managed to get a disciplinary action against me at a military academy type place (Boy's State) doing the Jimi treatment to the Star Spamgled Banner. Prolly didn't help that I did Amazing Grace and America the Beautiful the same way!
The part with "our flag was still there" sort of leads into the Crunching power chords for the transition. I gave the "rockets' red glare" the screaming unison bend treatment.
The Hendrix version is cool but I would never play it in public.
Amazing Grace and America the Beautiful Hendrixified? Wow!

That was super ! Is this a tone that you get through a 4/12 cab also?
Cause that was a bad ass Vai tone, there! :-))
Thanks! I'm running across a pair of 4x12's, but the recording was done directly into the sound card. The speaker emulation I'm using is, believe it or not, a 1x8.
A Vetta II, a junky sound card, and the National Anthem
In a couple of months I'm going to be playing the National Anthem at a local event. Hopefully, I'll also be playing it at a bigger one in June. For the one in June, I had to submit a demo and I haven't heard back yet.
Anyway, all I had to record with was my computer so I put the Vetta into the crappy sound card and made my demo. I explained to the lady whom I gave my CD to that this doesn't begin to do justice to the Vetta II across a pair of 4x12 cabs, but at least it'll demonstrate how I play it.
EDIT: In case you're curious, this was done in one take with no dubbing. I played it several times and picked my favorite. Please listen to the entire thing because it has a few surprises.
