Two JSX Clips!

Finally got this thing in (thanks Pete!), and it's officially THE amp for my sound.

It's loaded with JJ 6L6's in the powertubes, Shuguang 9th gen in V2, V3, and the PI, and an old vintage 12AX7 that Pete included in V1. It's got a little red face on it... anyone know what kind it might be?

The JB clip is sounding much better, as I made the 81 clip the day I got it, and hadn't tweaked it as much as I should have.

That said, this thing absolute LOVES passive pickups! I'm going to HAVE to keep this JB/Air Norton set around!

What channel are you using on the JSX for the rhythms????

That mystery 12ax7 is a GE 12ax7a I believe. Great tones and playing! I always just put all the tone controls at noon and never went real far from there - the EQ on the two overdrive channels is really powerful.

How do you set up the OD to the amps gain? Just boost the amps gain with the 808?

Great clips, thanks for posting. I actually saw them at the Andy Sneap forum first and use them for reference (we are going to record an album on our own)... I know that if I get a sound as good as your clips, I'm good to go.

OD808 is just setup for a light gain boost, tightens things up.

Drums are all DFHS.

I've done some more tests and actually found that the 85 sounds better than both the JB and 81... that pickup just kills!
