I was noodlign around, and I know I have heard this somewhere. I like its sound and was gonna use it, but I am pretty sure its just my memory rehashing a lick from song classic or modern song?!?

yea thats been used before...its a Goo Goo Dolls song. its off of Dizzy Up the Girl, i think the name is Slide? maybe? their riff does what yours does (the descending thing) then goes to the G and F# as well.

you can reuse riffs...its not like most riffs havent been used before! LOL try taking that basic idea and adding something to it...like do the first arpeggio normal, then go to the 2nd chord, but stay there another measure, add some different notes in there, and then move on from there.

ive gotten lots of ideas from playing other people's riffs and then changing things around to come up with my own stuff. change the key, change the rhythm, change the order of the chords...lots of stuff you can do
