  • An original metal song from me!

Wrote this for someone's birthday as a present!

Tried to include elements from all her favourite genres:

Heavy metal (Dream evil and so on)
    Folk Metal (ensiferum and such)
    Symphonic Black Metal (dimmu borgir)
    Heavy riffing (BLS)
    Melodic death (Wintersun)

First 4 solos are based around pentatonic and natural minor scales!

Last one is something more in my own style of writing!

    Let me know guys!

I like it! Especially the black metal elements! Don't like the folk elements tho...
    Nice playing and sound too!

          Thanks!

My upcoming solo CD is kinda like this but more technical, better mix of styles and such!

Man, solo CD sounds so pretentious....

Essentially, i live in a small city in Scotland, no-one plays the metal i like so i'm just doing an EP by myself and borrowing a friend's band'sa vocalist!

Very nice! What kind of instrument did you used for the choirs?

A special choir patch i made outta two choir sample libraries

              EW Voices of the apocalypse
              Spectrasonics Symphony of Voices

I built my mighty choir using a total of 5 patches from these libraries into Kontakt 2

\m/ Kewl! Sounds like Amorphis or Belgrath or Lord Belial...

I really liked it.. The tempo changes midway prior to solos were nice...

Jesus Christ that kicked ass! Throw some vocals on their, and it'll be in my car stereo soon.

What is your recording setup like?
What software/synth do you use for the choirs?

                            No i didn't

Deil is Scottish pronounciation of Devil in the west and place i grew up

The "Deil's Cauldron", however, is a valley in the village i grew up in and the reason i named it so is special meaning between the person i wrote it for and myself
