  • tips for recording from headphones out to mic in?

    Since santa isn't bringing me an audio interface it looks that for now I will be using the headphones out of my Lexincon MPX-G2 to the mic in of my computer. are there any tips to get a good recording?

    What program are you using to record?

    If you want to run direct out of the unit you should run it to a mixer and the mixer out to the mic in on the comp. You can get a small 1 or 2 ch mixer for $20.

        I would not use the headphone out, I'd use the balanced line level outputs. Most soundcards have a stereo line level input that you can use. However, the MPX looks to have a pro balanced +4 dBu level, while most basic soundcards will expect the consumer -10 dBV unbalanced level. You can convert from balanced to unbalanced and have your levels matching nicely with a LM2U if needed:
