  • $100...what to get?

    I got $100 from my wife's grandparents.

What guitar-related gear should I buy?

Check all your cables (instrument, speaker, and patch) to see what needs replacement (if it can't be repaired), or added (that "one more" patch/MIDI cable).

Got enough spare sets of strings?

A couple of pickups you wanted to try?

Maybe a new video card for your PC? WalMart.com has a 1GB model.

Buy.com has a 1TB external drive for about $80 (after rebate).

How about guitar picks? Stock up since the money's free.

Ever wanted to learn to play Slide guitar? Buy a slide and lesson tape from MF.

    Headphones?

Some blank CDs and some CD labels? Ink for your printer?

Some Advanced Guitar lesson DVDs? Troy Stetina Speed Mechanics or somesuch?

    A pedal?

Maybe some of those Ghost (piezo) Floyd saddles?

Better still, put it aside into a "new guitar fund". Add to it here and there whenever you get spare money - birthdays, etc - then buy that SL2H you're dreaming of

If you're not stocked up on strings and pics and beer - that's what I'd get !
Maybe some new patch cords or midi cables ?
A hooker, or some instructional videos ? finger weights ? gripmaster ?
You could buy some tools for guitar work( soldering gun, screwdrivers, etc..)if you don't already have them.

Just to add some info, I'm fine on strings, cables, picks, etc. and I have all the guitar tools I need (soldering iron, wire cutters, etc.)

I am in the market to replace the EMGs in my Kelly, so pickups is an option. I'm also curious about the Stetina book. Or perhaps some software for recording on the computer.

Anyone have a killer piece of gear that they couldn't live without that is $100 or less? Or pickup suggestions? I have a JB in my Predator that I like, and I couldn't stand the thin sound of the EMG 81 and the muffled sound of the EMG 85. I've been looking at the Tone Zone...anyone have experience with it in a Kelly (alder body)?

LOL. I remember in high school an 8th was $30 bucks. Quarter was $50- volume discount.

Seriously, $100 on guitar-related shit and you won't even notice it.

$100 on a hooker, and you're in business!
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

Take your guitar to the strip club and take some pictures of hot chicks with their boobies all over it.

Tip well, and don't eat the food.

                      Post all pics here please.

"$100 on a hooker, and you're in business with Amy Crackwhore!"

I sure as hell don't know about Europe, but you'd be lucky to get your toenails trimmed for a C-Note in the U.S.

Never needed help spending money but always need help saving it though.
A hundred isn't alot consider how expensive things are.
If I were in your shoes, I'd go with a pickup.
I look at pickups like I do tubes, they definitely can change the sound of your rig, good or bad a definite change will happen. I always feel like I get my money's worth when buying pickups and tubes.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.

My pick would be a Line 6 Toneport GX. If you want to play guitar into your computer, this is the thing. It might even leave you some change to buy another JB for your Kelly. I've got a JB/59 pair just waiting to go in my KE3.
