  • Slight dilemma (sp?)

Probably seems like an inappropriate question for a public forum but I figure; what do I got to lose? Besides, you all know your music.

Anyhow, I am getting married to my fiance soon and we need to find two tunes to dance to. Simple enough, right? Problem is that I only really like prog, metal, and prog metal. Although I do deviate a bit sometimes, I am generally not a fan of mainstream music because it all sounds the same to me. I am really coming up short with ideas.

Any serious suggestions? (Pathetic, I know).

Probably not the answer that is going to help you but my "wedding song" was Faith No Mores Midnight Cowboy. Oddly enough that song had meaning to the both of us and I though it fit very well......just a little odd.Good luck with yours.

My wife and I danced to "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton. A close runner-up was "Nights in White Satin" by the Moody Blues, but we decided it wasn't very grandparent-friendly.

Oh, and let her pick the songs. Your marriage will be much better

I actually redid Nights in White Satin and she wants me to use it.... but it had a wicked AM radio feel to it, and I didn't really see how the lyrics fit.

And she only likes Country music *SIGH!!!!!!!*... and I hate that crap. I don't want to dance to (no offense anyone) 2 hillbilly tunes. I won't even remember them. I think we are going to each pick one.

Def Leppard's "Promises" and AC/DC's "Girls Got Rythm".

Oh wait, you like Prog. How about Tull's "Thick As A Brick" and "A Passion Play"? You got the stamina for those two dances....?
