Why do they do this? I know I can go to my local shop and they pull out their All Parts cat. and get a better price than this.

They're pretty consistent, too. They want $19 for a floyd arm/socket, and I can get one in Allparts packaging at my local shop for $14. So much for saving by cutting out the middle man. They also have a high minimum shipping charge. Maybe they're trying hard not to undercut their retailers, but since some people buy everything online (sure seems like lots of guys here do), they'll happily take their money.

Allparts UK seem to screw everyone...you pay through the nose if you're not a retailer and you wait even longer if you are a retailer since they seem all too happy to flog in preference to the consumer at the elevated prices. They are also none too shy to let backorders rack up before bulk-buying from the US it seems.

They sell at full suggested retail. The dealers usually discount a little bit below the MSRP.
