  • Model 4 Wiring Diagram

Sorry if this has been covered before but I can't seem to find anything using the search function. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a Charvel Model 4 please. I originally set the body I have up with one pickup and one volume pot but I have just got some muni switches and tone pots and want to get it back to original. Can anyone help me please?
    Thanks

Do you still have the midboost circuit for the guitar? If so, this may help. The diagrams from the electronics manual show the wiring for the midboost system with a 5-way switch, but they still may help you, at least with the boost circuit.

For the 3 mini-toggle setup, the white wire (A) goes to the middle lug of each of the toggles in series, starting with the nearest switch then jumpered to each of the others. A white wire goes from the middle lug of the 1st switch to the middle lug of the tone pot. This is where my Model 6 differs from the first diagram in the routing of the white wire (A) from the board. The diagram shows it going to the tone pot first, but it goes to the switch first on my guitar. The hot lead from each pickup goes the top lug of its own switch. The switches are grounded in series, then to the common ground. Hope this helps, I know a diagram would be better.

No I don't have the circuit. I got the body off EBay with nothing at all attached to it unfortunately. I've just bought a set up of a volume pot, 2 tone pots and 4 microswitches off EBay that I hope to fit when I get them delivered.

Here are a couple of schematics from Duncan. Couldn't find one for HSS & 3 switches, but just figure you'll be soldering two of the Bridge hum's wires together & taping or shrink-wrapping the connection. The first one shows the wiring of the 3 switches, but doesn't have the pots. The second one shows how to wire the volume & tone pots, just ignore the switch in that schematic & picture the wire leaving the volume pot going to the middle lug of each individual switch. Unless you have a specific reason for wanting 2 tone pots, I'd just go with 1 master tone. The third pot in the original layout was the midboost control. You could put in the extra pot & knob, then leave it unwired just for cosmetics.
