  • need info on clear / finish type used in early 80s

    what type of finish did Jackson use in the early 80s?
    i know almost little to nothing about the paint and clear used way back then.

    wanting to start a resto project using era correct consumables.

    don't know for a fact on Jackson but most custom paints in the early 80's were lacquer

        this is one i regret letting go but for the sake of example - this '84 RR would have had a lacquer finish?
        any ideas on the paint used on this back in the day?

        my respect and awe grows for those guys and their talents as i learn about this stuff.

              Polyester had a bad habit of cracking and lifting. I bet that's what the clear coat was.
              There is no "team" in "Fuck You!"
