  • tips before I install a new Floyd?

I went ahead and bought a new "Floyd Rose Original Series Tremolo Bridge with R3 Nut--Black" from Guitar Center. My plan is to use it to replace the Jackson-licensed Floyd in my circa 2008 Jackson RR-3.

Any hints/tips/tricks for doing the install?

You might need to route some of the body for that swap, I don’t think it’s a direct swap.

Should fit fine. The OFR has been swapped in place of the JT580LP by plenty of people here.

I completed the swap, and it worked pretty well. As Mudlark pointed out on a previous thread of mine, the nut is not a direct replacement, so I left well enough alone with that. The new post studs/bushings were a pretty tight fit, but I put them in the freezer before I tapped them it, and that seemed to help.

Thanks to all of you all who responded.
