  • FR Trem Arm Barrel Fix

the Trem Arm barrel on my Floyd Rose Special fitted to my Adrian Smith SDXQ came loose. I fixed it by tightening the Allen screw holding both halves of the barrel together. I notice that the official Floyds ‘seem’ to have a plastic washer under this screw, but the special does not.

is anyone aware of a fix to stop this happening again? Perhaps a spring washer would do the trick? Or has anyone tried anything else?

A dab of loc-tite or spring washer should do the trick

Thanks. I’ll try the spring washer first to see how I get on.

loctite - are you suggesting it for gluing the barrel to the base base plate, or on the thread of the Allen screw?

I just replaced the barrell and bar of my floyd rose 1000 with a push in style trem arm made by floyd rose. It has a grub screw on the side of the barrel to tighten or loosen the 'swing' in the arm. All problems are now solved with this newer style arm. No more wobble, no more parts coming apart. It's perfect
