Allen wrench holder installation question

Hey guys, quick question...

I just bought another USA Jackson but this one does'nt have the allen wrench holder on the back of the headstock so I ordered one to install myself.

Should I pre-drill a hole for the screw and dimples or should I just place it where it's supposed to go and screw it in until tight? What's the best course of action here without damaging the guitar?

Pre drill the pilot hole for the screw. Not sure if you need it for the dimples.

definitely make a pilot hole for the screws

with the strings off, set the head stock on a padded block and place the tool holder where you want it. give it a lite smack with a mallet and the little pins will be set. pre drill the screw hole and insert the screw. now place tools in your newly mounted tool holder.
