  • Model 3 Locking Nut missing the High E string

Have a model 3 with a behind the nut locking nut later type with slot head machine screws.

Given the pointy headstock and high E string angle with it wound normal direction, the string seems to miss the clamping jaw as the string strays off to the side between the clamp and the locknut housing. Result is that the high E won't stay in tune, unless you forcible pich it over when locking the nut.

Is this common, or is the locknut misaligned or the jaw just worn with too much play in it?
You can't really be jealous of something you can't fathom.
