  • Replacement locking nut for WRMG

    Hi guys,

I'm new to Jacksons and I need to replace the nut on my WRMG. The old nut works fine but every replacement string lock clamp I've bought just doesn't fit the nut!

I know it's a 43mm nut I'm looking for, and preferably an OFR-made one, but how do I know if I want a wide string spacing or narrow string pacing? How do I check this before making a purchase online?

    Thanks in advance guys.

R-4 is used for guitars with binding R3 with out.
You can grind down the clamps and make them work.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Just be careful, an OFR nut will probably stand a bit higher than the stock Jackson nut. This means you may need to alter the shelf that the nut sits on in order to get the action you are accustomed to with a Jackson. Grinding the clamps seems to be a simpler solution.

Thanks for the replies guys, I made the clamps work.

FYI the nut is 43mm wide.

I thought R4 was simply wider string spacing as well. Isn't that what Lynch uses on those wide ESPee Kamikaze necks? If so, that might be what those old Dinky Rev necks need.
