  • removing Fender headstock logo?

I did a short search looking for advice on the best way to remove the factory logo from a fender neck (headstock). I came up short. Does anybody have good advice for the easiest way without damaging the wood? I really don't want to sand it down.

    Thanks, Matt

What is your goal? Just to remove it. Leave the HS blank?

I am looking to remove it and then put on a custom water slide. I'm putting together a mutt and don't want the fender logo on it.

        Sandpaper.

Nothing wrong with the Fender logo though. Fender makes some nice stuff.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll take my time and lightly sand it.

Don't wet sand it, if you get past the clear and the logo, you will risk getting the moisture in the wood. This will create minor problems with raising the grain and wetting the wood. You can simply dry sand with 320 or 400 to get it off. You can then re seal with a rattle can of lacquer just like the factory after you apply your new logo.
