Broken head stock on Gibby, need some help and tips.I

    Haha, I too have broken a headstock clean off a Gibson SG. I used original Titebond and clamped it for about 48 hours. No problems to speak of after that.

      Well I glued and clamped her up yesterday. Tomorrow I'm going to take the clamp off and do a tension test and hopefully restring her.

        Nice! Once you pull the clamps and clean it all up, Hold the neck in one hand and the headstock in the other. Gently flex the headstock in different ways; if the headstock moves (as it should) but the joint itself doesn't flex, you did well. If the joint flexes, it'll break again.

          Well here are the results, I've gotta sand off the little bit of excess.

            Not bad for ur first one. Clean up the extra and it should be fine. Wood glue is water soluble. So a damp paper towel should take care of most of it. Dont over wet the clean up area and whipe any water off right away so it doesn't soak into the glue joint and loisen it up.
