    I can't recall exactly, but I think the W might mean it was at a factory where there was water damage from a flood or something. I seem to vaguely recall something about that on here many years ago.

        u the MVP. and lol how the poster in that thread ("hello") tried to cover his tracks by editing his post, presumably in order to resell it without disclosure. how about noobs NOT be allowed to edit posts?

        and PPS: if it's almost 30 years later and the neck is still straight, I wouldn't sweat it.

            Forgot about those. Explains why it looks like a factory stamp.
            96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.
