  • CS WarKelly

    Hello all!
Haven't been too active here for quite some time now but since i got a very exciting delivery today
I thought i'd share it with all of you Jackson freaks. For this new CS i wanted to do something different from
my "regular" 1H Warriors. So i put together a quite special guitar combining the best of two worlds.

    Pic for hint:

The front half of the guitar is a Kelly and the back half is a Warrior, hence the name WarKelly
I don't know if there's been others built but I'm sure you guys know.
Build time was just under 7 months which must be a record for a CS guitar.

Specs are very simple but has a few specials that i really like:

    Body:
    Genuine mahogany, spalted maple top
Trans black finish, all black around the edges
    Custom upper register carve

    Neck:
Ever since i bought and played the white "employee project" Soloist from Ian i never wanted a
standard neck again so this one is also built after that guitars neck specs which is a bit wider:
    Floyd R5 nut
Width at nut: 1-3/4" , Width at butt: 2-1/4"
    25.5" scale, Shape .775" @ 3rd - .835" @ 12th
    Compound radius 12" to 16"

Quartersawn maple with ebony fretboard, no inlays, black binding
    24 frets stainless jumbo
Graphite reinforced truss rod, satin finished back (like sanded)
Reverse headstock, match body color, 90's logo
All black truss rod cover, Schaller tuners

    Hardware/pickup(s)
    Original Floyd rose recessed
EMG -85 (volume pot only) battery quick loader in rear control plate.
    Upper wing jack
    Schaller strap locks

    I think that's it.
Here's some pics, maybe not the best quality but i'm more excited to play it than take photos

    /Ola

              Very cool.

Was the speed neck a Master Built option?

That actually looks awesome. The shape is somewhat similar to the Death Kelly.

If you go on Google Images and search for Jackson War Kelly, you get a shape that is the front half of a Warrior and the butt of a Kelly (the opposite configuration of your hybrid shape). It's not my cup of tea but I admire the creativity.

Your guitar might be more intuitively named "Kellarrior" to reflect the reverse configuration from the previously established shape but it just doesn't roll off the tongue very well and I'm sure you could outdo my lack of imaginative naming, or better yet, fight the original War Kelly owners for the naming rights because your shape is cooler 😆
